Franklin Hines, President/CEO

Franklin obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Cheyney University in Cheyney, Pennsylvania in 1961. He taught in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania public school system for several years before graduating from John Tyler School of Mortuary Science in Chester, Virginia. He is a licensed funeral director, embalmer and pre-need insurance counselor. He is a past governor of the Sixth Congressional District Mortician's Association and a past president of the South Carolina Mortician's Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hartsville Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of the Community Action Agency, Commissioner of the Water and Sewer Authority. He is a past Mayor Pro Tem for the city of Hartsville, South Carolina and served for twenty-two years on Hartsville's City Council. He has served on several bank boards before becoming a founding member of the Heritage Community Bank in Hartsville. He was recently selected as Hartsville's "Citizen of the Year". He is a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where he has served in many capacities both at the local and the conference level. He is also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.


Carl M. Days, General Manager

Carl is a licensed funeral director, embalmer and pre-need insurance specialist. A native of Hartsville, South Carolina, he graduated from Fayetteville Technical College with a degree in Funeral Service Education and from Coker College with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. He has been associated with Hines Funeral Home, Inc. since June of 1984. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Hartsville Boys & Girls Club and volunteers as a mentor in the Darlington County School District. He also volunteers at many of the areas hospice organizations. Carl is a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where he serves on the Trustee Board, sings on the Concert Choir and the Men’s Ensemble and is a member of the Adult Leadership Team for Teens4Christ. He is also affiliated with B.A.S.E. (Boys About School & Education). He is married to the former Paula Mack and they enjoy spending quality time with their children.


Omijean Timmons, OSHA Compliance Officer

Omijean, a 1975 Wilson High School of Florence graduate, also graduated from Francis Marion University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry. She holds a Medical Technology Degree from the McLeod Regional Medical Center School of Medical Technology that she received in 1980. She also has an Associate's Degree in Funeral Service Education that she received from Fayetteville Technical College in 1989. She is a licensed funeral director, embalmer and pre-need insurance counselor. She is a member of Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church where she serves as the secreatry of the Board of Trustees, president of the Lay Organization,and coordinator of the Youth Ministry. Omijean has one son, Dashawn.


J. Khalfani Hines - Funeral Director / Embalmer

Khalfani is a 1992 graduate of Hartsville High School in Hartsville, SC. He is a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC with an Associate Degree in Funeral Service Education. He is also Vice President / Secretary of Darlington Memory Gardens. Khalfani has been employed with Hines Funeral Home, Inc. since 1996. Khalfani is a licensed funeral director, embalmer and pre-need insurance counselor. He is a member of Myrtle Lodge #64, the Hartsville Rotary and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Hartsville Boys & Girls Club. Khalfani is a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.


Doris Griffin, Office Manager

Doris is a 1972 graduate of Harding High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She also graduated from Florence/Darlington Technical College in 1988 with a degree in Secretarial/PC Training. She has also completed a series of Dale Carnegie courses. She has been employed with Hines Funeral Home, Inc. since July of 1988. She is an apprentice funeral director and a Notary Public. Doris is a member of Nazareth Apostolic Church. She is a member of Excelsior Temple No. 790 and also serves as the financial secretary. Doris has five children, Jermaine, LaShonda, Lonte', Kenyon and Shamika.


Delores Patterson, Office Manager Darlington Memory Gardens

Delores, a native of Hartsville, South Carolina graduated from Butler High School in 1966. She attended Coker College where she majored in Business Management. Delores worked as a floral designer for Hines Florist during the 1980's and worked with the company for over ten years. Since that time she has been a property manager for several apartment complexes in the area. Delores is a member of New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where she is a member of the Power Team, the Missionary Society, the Pastor's Aid and the Souvenir Book Committee. She sings on the Inspirational Choir and the Senior Choir and is a Sunday School teacher.


J. Floyd Davis, Assistant Manager - Lamar Facility

Floyd was born in Trenton, New Jersey and moved to Dillon, South Carolina in 1941. He attended St. Augustine's College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Floyd is a retired supervisor of the Roller Bearing Corporation of South Carolina. He is a member of Centenary United Methodist Church where he serves as chairman of the Administrative Board and is a member of the United Methodist Men. He also serves on the board of the Darlington County Community Action Agency, is president of the Hartsville Branch of the NAACP, serves as treasurer of the South Carolina Conference of Branches of the NAACP and is the regional coordinator for Region 7-A NAACP. Floyd also works as a Family Counselor at Darlington Memory Gardens. He is a Master Mason, a 32ND Degree Mason and a Shriner. Floyd has two children, James F. Davis, III and Lydia L. Davis.


Karleyne “Kay” Joiner, Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer

Kay is a 2006 graduate of Fayetteville Technical College with a degree in Funeral Service Education. Originally from Port Washington, New York, she now makes her home in Florence, South Carolina. Kay has been a registered nurse for 31 years and has been employed at McLeod Regional Medical Center since 2000. She is also a certified floral designer and assists in creating floral designs for Hines Florist. She enjoys spending time with her family and singing with the Majority Baptist Church Mass Choir. Kay is a member of Faith Deliverance Church in Clio, South Carolina.


Inez B. Lee, Assistant Manager - Lamar Facility

Inez is a native of Lamar, South Carolina. She is a graduate of Francis Marion University with a degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. She also holds a Master of Education degree from Cambridge College. Inez is a retired school teacher having taught in the Darlington County School District for 35 years. She serves as chairperson of the Darlington County Council on Aging, the director of the Sandy Grove/Cypress Community of Shalom and is a member of the Lamar Revitalization Committee. She is also a volunteer in the schools in the Lamar area. She is a member of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church where she serves in many capacities. Inez is married to Ronnie W. Lee and they are the parents of three children.
